SANJOSE will build the Alcalá 544 office building in Madrid

Wapiti Development has awarded SANJOSE Constructora the execution works for an office and parking building at 544 Calle Alcalá in Madrid.
The new building, of approximately 15,000 square meters of built surface, will have five floors above ground, ground floor and underground floor devoted to parking and complementary purposes to business services and two floors below ground (devoted to house parking spaces and technical rooms). On the fourth floor, there is a roof that connects with the work spaces, generating recreational spaces. Adjacent to this, corporate and presidential spaces of the building are located.
The project designed by Fenwick Iribarren aims to achieve a symbolic and representative image in his own vision of the Calle Alcalá. For this, a powerful and simple volumetry is sought, generating an adequate scale that allows the building to be identified and understood from its distant vision.
The composition is generated from opaque walls that run through all the floors of the different levels of the building, enhancing the glass facades. On the East, South and West facades, the same façade system is maintained, but a double skin perforation element is included, which serves for solar protection and privacy with neighbours.
The building seeks to distinguish itself and become a benchmark for sustainability by implementing the LEED Certification criteria.
