EBA will build the new Medical and Nursing school of the UPV-EHU in Basurto, Bilbao

The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) has awarded EBA, in a Joint Venture with Ferrovial Construcción, the execution works for more than 45,000 m² of its new Medical and Nursing School in Basurto, Bilbao.

Architecturally, the academic complex has a configuration of four bolcks to optimize the available space, the largest one (south zone) is the one that will house the research spaces and teaching laboratories.

Among its 32,000 useful meters, it will have various facilities, including: 75 classrooms, 206 offices for teachers and researchers, two virtual hospitals, research areas, an animal facility with its operating room area, deep-freezer area, a biobank, radioactive rooms, 10,000 square meters of laboratories (191) for anatomy, dissection, microbiology, surgery or genetics, etc.
