SANJOSE Perú will build the new Glorioso Colegio Nacional de Ciencias (Educational Institution) in Cusco

Banco de Crédito del Perú has awarded SANJOSE Constructora Perú, in JV with PDCI Peruana de Construcción e Infraestructuras, the contract for the Technical Work Plan, demolition of existing structures, and construction of a new educational infrastructure.

The project will feature 15 buildings of two and three levels, housing 48 classrooms for Primary and Secondary education, 6 Pedagogical Innovation Classrooms for technologies, laboratories, workshops, an auditorium, administrative areas, a sports complex, landscaping, green spaces, a perimeter fence, and more. Additionally, the contract includes the procurement and implementation of furniture and technological equipment, as well as the construction of temporary contingency classrooms to ensure the continuity of educational activities during the demolition and new construction phase.

With over 22,000 square meters of built area, the project will be developed using the BIM methodology for improved planning and resource optimization. It will also adhere to all sustainability criteria necessary for the EDGE certification process, an innovation by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) that promotes energy-efficient, water-saving, and sustainable buildings.

Recognized by the Congress of Peru as the oldest school in the country, the Glorioso Colegio Nacional de Ciencias was founded by Simón Bolívar on July 8, 1825. Since 1972, the institution has been located within Cusco’s Monumental Zone, designated a Historical Monument of Peru. Furthermore, in 1983, its historic center was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list as part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
