The company “Concesionaria San José Tecnocontrol, S.A.”, company belonging to Grupo San José, signed on 10th February 2011 the financing agreement for the project “Programa de Concesiones en Infraestructura Hospitalaria, Hospital de Maipú, Hospital de la Florida” (Hospital Infrastructure Concession Programme, Maipu Hospital, La Florida Hospital). Funding consists of a long term credit amounting to USD 250 million.

This important agreement was reached with the following entities: Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Chile, Banco BICE, Corpbanca, Banco Itaú Chile, Banco del Estado de Chile, Scotiabank Chile, Banco Security and Banco Consorcio and ensures the execution of this pioneering project on Chilean concessions with a total investment commitment by Grupo Sanjose amounting to USD 300 million.

The Hospital Infrastructure Concession Programme represents the first hospital concession promoted by the Government of Chile and includes the design, execution, provision and assembly of industrial equipment as well as the maintenance and provision of non-clinical services to two hospitals, one in Maipu and another in La Florida. Both hospitals, with a total surface of nearly 70,000 m2 each, incorporate high technology standards and provide the Chilean Health Care System with 766 beds.

The company “Concesionaria San José Tecnocontrol, S.A.” has already started the execution of both projects; Maipu Hospital was commenced in November last year and La Florida Hospital, in February this year.  Both projects are expected to be completed by the first quarter of year 2013.

Currently, earthworks, underpinning and foundations are taking place at the Maipu Hospital and earthworks are being started at La Florida Hospital.  Prior to the commence of the works, the Concession Company created in La Florida a Provisional Health Care Centre so as to transfer there the services provided at the former San Rafael Health Care Centre (located where the new hospital is being built) and allow the Health Care System to continue offering a quality service till the completion of the works. This Project was also included within the Hospital Infrastructure Concession Programme and was executed in only 5 months after being awarded by the Service de Salad Metropolitan Sure Oriented (South East Metropolitan Health Care Services).
