SANJOSE will extend the Alfara de Valencia Campus for the CEU-UCH University with the new Faculty of Health Sciences and new Veterinary Hospital

The CEU Cardenal Herrera University has awarded Constructora SAN JOSE the execution works of the new Faculty of Health Sciences and the new Veterinary Hospital of Pets and large animals, that will be built on the campus of Alfara del Patriarca (Valencia). Both projects have been designed by Remedios García Fernández-Carrión and Francisco Javier García Alcázar and involve an investment of 25 million euros.
The execution period of the new building of the Faculty of Health Sciences is 16 months, while the construction of the new Veterinary Hospital will end in eight months. The new buildings will mean an important qualitative leap for the University, providing more suitables spaces for the development of academic work and research.
█ THE NEW FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
They will be built 19.447 m² in Alfara del Patriarca, next to the Dentistry building. Thus the new Faculty will be completed for degree courses at: Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medicine and Dentistry.
This new building, fully accessible, will be equipped with the necessary facilities, as clinical and practice spaces, teaching and research laboratories and departments for different degrees of Health Sciences. The unification of spaces in one building will optimize resources and adequate framework to current challenges in teaching and research in its various degrees.
Among teaching spaces, the building will include: The Aula Magna for 200 seats, 16 Magistrale Aulas for 90 seats, 30 laboratories for research, the expansion of clinics and preclinical dental rooms and the simulation rooms for nursing, pharmacy and physiotherapy degrees.
█ THE NEW VETERANY HOSPITAL
The new Clinical Veterinary Hospital (4379 m² of floor area) will multiply up of five the current facilities. Thus, the new complex will include all areas of specialization and will provide adequate space for teaching, clinical practice and research.
Professionals with expertise from across Europe have advised the CEU-UCH in the design of this Hospital, which complies with the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), the official authority for the accreditation of veterinary institutions in Europe.
The Veterinary Hospital of the CEU will be the first in Diagnostic Imaging and Infectious Isolation Units. Moreover, it will incorporate the latest technology in inpatient units and ICU, which can be monitored from a central control unit.
The new facilities will have experimental operating rooms to carry out teaching and experimental surgery. It also includes adequate facilities and equipment for the accommodation of residents, as the Hospital will remain open 365 days a year.
The area of companion animals of the new Veterinary Hospital of the CEU-UCH will include the following areas of care and training: exploration and consultation of small animals; support to diagnostic and radiology; Surgery-area and direct logistics; ICU hospitalization; general hospitalization and postoperative; hospitalization of infectious (in separate area. In addition, the hospital will have an area of re-education-socialization of dogs with an outdoor area with playground.
For large animals It will have the following areas of training and care: exploration and consultations large animals; support to diagnostic and radiology; Surgery-area and direct logistics; ICU hospitalization; general hospitalization and postoperative and hospitalization of infectious (in a separate area). As an outdoor open spaces for large animals it will be provided a R 9m circular hard ground, R 9m circular soft ground, a 30x2m tennis straight hard ground, and an area of paddocks (fenced areas with expansion.
