SANJOSE will build the Tafalla - Campanas section in Navarra belonging to the Cantabrian - Mediterranean High Speed Corridor

Adif - Alta Velocity has awarded SANJOSE Constructora - in a joint venture with Copasa, Puentes y Calzadas Infraestructuras and Luperlan Tunelling - the execution works of the Tafalla - Campanas section in Navarra belonging to the Cantabrian - Mediterranean High Speed Corridor.

With an approximate length of 15.1 km, this new section runs through 7 Navarrese municipalities. Among its most unique actions is the construction of three tunnels: the Cathedral tunnel (474 m), the Artzareta tunnel (658 m) and the Murugain (506.9 m); a 546 m viaduct that will cross the La Majada stream; and various overpasses and underpasses that will promote permeability on both sides of the railway line.

The project also includes the construction of a Train Overtaking and Parking Post (PAET) in Garínoain for the parking of freight trains and several structures for the crossing of pipelines and the replacement of the Camino de Santiago.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the need to maintain the existing traffic on the Castejón - Alsasua line makes it necessary to replace about 3.5 km of said road in the final part of the section, affecting the Campanas siding.

The project will promote the mobility of travelers and goods through the railway in the Foral Community of Navarra and is part of the Cantabrian Mediterranean Corridor, which will connect the Foral community of Navarra with Aragon and the Basque Country.
